On Thursday 3 October, the CoNISMa (National Inter-University Consortium for Sea Sciences), leading partner of the WELCOME project, and the "Istituto Comprensivo Elisa Springer" Surbo were together to support the environment.
"Istituto Comprensivo Elisa Springer" Surbo accepted CoNISMa's proposal for a series of lessons on environmental sustainability, marine litter and circular economy. The lessons took place during the winter of 2019 and involved all primary school classes and two middle school classes. Now, as part of the project, a final lesson was held on the importance of the three Rs, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. At the end of the lesson, the WELCOME project donated 145 aluminium flasks to the school to raise students' awareness of the reduction of disposable plastic in general and plastic bottles in particular.
